Orangewood Skate Park

Orangewood/West Covina In a weird hidden corner behind an abandoned ice hockey rink. I felt like I got dirtier by just being there. Plenty of obstacles to choose from. I opted for the tiny curb over the gap by the flatbar. Reckon I could skate here all day and not get bored. Then again I would only skate 50% of this park. Slide 3 shows a huge area that is just wasted with massive ledges and handrails than barely anybody will skate. All in all a pretty decent park. I just wish it wasn't painted that awful yellow beige colour and I also wish the city would leave the graffiti. It might give the place a bit more character. #1000skateparkchallenge #cementurians

Nice, small, and quaint skate park. It rolls smooth from one side to the other. Nice parts to work on my jumps, tricks, and ollie's. But, dirty, smelly of urine everywhere you stand and skate. Some skaters don't have the mentality of taking your trash with you or at the very least dump it in the trash can. Everytime I go there because I want a quick fix ride through I am disappointed from the mounds of trash left and continuance of urine smell. Too bad.

Before I explain why I gave this park 4 stars, let me tell you about the negatives: Graffiti. The graffiti gives a sense of zero security and makes the park feel unwelcoming. Somebody left you sad souls a message (see photo). City workers were cutting grass and keeping up the outside but didn't bother to clear the park of so many leaves from the trees. For shame! The street portion is nice but small. Overall the park is really fun so I hope the city, the police, and the community steps up their game because the 4 stars are for the physical park itself and nothing else.
