Very nice, clean beach with a great playground! Skatepark and sports fields also.

This concrete park is a major missed opportunity for skaters of most types. For one - and this is vital - there is no public parking for this skatepark. As with most Connecticut beach properties, the beaches are “public” but all surrounding neighborhoods for at least a half-mile are private. I had to park about a mile away in a grocery store lot and skate in. About the park itself: the difficult flow and the aggressive obstacles make it less fun than it could be. The pool is decent if you’re into them and has a cool love seat gap. The ledges are OK but are on the taller side, making it hard for beginners. The handrail and bump to bar are good but really high and there’s awkward run-up for both. The banked hubbas are too in-between—they would be better if they were one or the other. The euro gap to the box is fun, but most of the bank to ledges are just awkward and cramped. The hip with the curved ledge is cool, but cramps the space even more. The snake run to pole jam again is interesting but the pole jam is high and only accessible, again, to more advanced skaters. The bank to wallride is rad, but the adjacent bank gap is too big, and the weird flat gap it creates is a waste of the ledges at the top, in my opinion, and cramps the small riding room at the top of the deck. What really blew my mind about this park is the bump to bar - someone put coping about 6 inches BELOW the drop in leading up to it, rendering it essentially unskatable. You have to see it to believe it (photos 2 and 3). There are ways to get creative at this park, but usually not without much skill and willingness to take a few hearty slams.

Love to bring a blanket, chairs, and our dachshund and watch the waves and sunset!
