East Woods Skate Plaza

While walking dogs through the Eastwood area late at night, I will go to the skate plaza so the dogs can run around. The park seems great for this use. I see the ramp for the skaters along with a couple of mini staircases. There is also a set of wooden bleachers for spectators.

Small but excellent design, you could really do some sick stuff there if your good enough. Some of the people that show up are not the friendliest and don't have patience for kids using the park, which doesn't surprise me given the location of the park...

This is great city resource for skaters. Come by, enjoy, train, and get better at skating. It beats getting booted from places downtown or looking for an empty in-ground pool, which don't exist in New York State except in abandoned resorts in the Catskills. But seriously, the one issue I have with the park is that some of the users are very disrespectful to the grounds by not picking up their trash and throwing bottles and cans and miscellaneous stuff around instead of using the two trash cans available. What's with you knockheads. Back in my day, the 60's and 70's, littering was so uncool we would have went from peace love and hippies to violent Code Enforcers if we ever saw anyone littering . And that's another issue I have with the city. Why the heck don't they have recycle bins since most of the trash is recyclable plastic and cans. Get on top of it Parks and Rec.
