Monita Field: Bike & Skate Park
Monita Field in Dayton, OH, is the go-to skatepark for shredders looking to rip it on both bikes and boards. With a killer setup and a 4.9-star rating from 19 skaters, this park is where locals come to throw down their best tricks and push their limits.

A skatepark built by American Ramp Company from Joplin, MO, my hometown. I had high expectations for this park considering my familiarity with the company. With that said, my expectations were mostly met. It is an incredibly fun layout. It should be mentioned that I have inline skates and I do not skateboard. My complaints are mostly that the ramps are metal and not completely flush with the ground. After rainfall, waters splashes out from underneath the ramps. I was really hoping for some concrete or wood ramps. The other is the mini ramps - three different heights are great. However, the two larger minis are connected and are the coping are only maybe 8-10ft long. This does not provide enough room to get a nice, long grind. The quarter pipes are okay. The best area is probably the street section with a bunch of different boxes. They seem to slide really well and do not require much wax, which keeps the skateboarders happy.

Five stars for the micro mini alone! The material is kind of slick if you aren't expecting slide, so either give yourself an adjustment period or switch to stickier wheels. There are no posted park hours, but no street lamps either, so if going when it's dark then bring your own light. I helped shape the features that went into this park, and got some great features but not all I asked for. This park is a huge benefit for new skaters, speaking specifically for quad skaters, because there is a micro mini half pipe! Perfect for learning scary new coping tricks and trying your very first drop in. As of this post, this park has the only micro mini ramp in the Dayton area. It also has the only stand-alone spine in the area (the other local spine I know of connects two bowls at the South Park Skate Park in Washington Township and is concrete). Sadly, the spine is like 4 ft tall which is a bit intimidating to new skaters. There's I think a 3 ft ish half pipe next to a 4 or 5ft half which is nice to level up to. There are other typical features that are similar to other parks. The pump track is also the only one in Dayton I think, outside of Mike's Bike Park. It is rideable by quad skaters, though I haven't tried it personally. #SpreadTheStoke #CommunitiesInBowls

Honestly the best place to ride bmx in the Dayton area for any all around riders, they continue to add more features my only real complaint is the excess amount of dust on the skatepark that has accumulated from working on surrounding features making the park extra slick and very muddy when wet
