Decent little skatepark in an area that desperately needed one. Seems to be well built as it’s holding up nicely in the 4+ years since it was built. (Although there’s a few wonky spots) the “M” for Malvern built into the big bank was a nice personalized touch. There’s a serious lack of transition here though. No bowl or mini-ramp. Just a steep quarter-pipe with no deck on top. Very much a “back and forth” type skatepark as it’s long and skinny. I could see this being an issue when it’s crowded, especially with younger kids (usually on scooters) who may not understand skatepark etiquette or the direction of flow. No lights and the parking lot is a 3 minute walk from the park itself, but now I’m just nitpicking. Neilson’s got enough to keep a beginner or a seasoned pro busy for a while. Definitely check this one out if/when you find yourself in West Durham/East Toronto. 3.5 stars.

My son enjoyed his first time at this skate park location. All ages enjoyed that section of the park with their scooters, roller/inline skates, and skateboards. Fun, family-friendly environment. A bit closer to the road than expected, but it's still worth the trek over there.
