The Alex LeVasseur Memorial Skatepark was just renovated. This skatepark is ok. The obstacles are pretty mediocre. There is no elevation change, it's flat the entire park. Overall, the skatepark is meant to honor the memory of Alex LeVasseur. I was in attendance of the ribbon cutting and first ever rides of the park.

Super fun and inviting skatepark for all levels of experience. It’s great for the skateboarding community to have a space like this to go and enjoy. I’m really hoping to see some improvements around the winter rules (closed if below 40 degrees). Winter is harsh enough to go through with less daylight. Limiting outdoor activities such as skateboarding due to the temperature hurts. It’s like any other outdoor physical activity, when we get our blood flowing, we hardly notice the cold weather. Please consider this change YMCA skatepark.

The new concrete skatepark is really excellent! Made by top skatepark builders, all the transitions, ledges, and rails are near perfect! However, this park loses a couple of stars because they decided to close when the weather gets “too cold.” Skaters really don’t care if it’s below 40 degrees. This policy reduces the amount of time skaters can skate and the employees can do their job. The park ends up being closed for months in the winter, basically pushing skaters to skate elsewhere. Don’t have the YMCA skatepark be associated with being closed. Less and less people will use it over time. Wear a jacket or hoodie if it’s “too cold.”
