Taylorsville Skatepark

Man, this new park is just such a bummer. I get the old park was a little janky and absolutely had its faults, but it was original and fun. How do none of these new parks being put up have a single flat box or manual pad? Every ledge is off a kicker. The euro step is in such a strange spot where the set up is insanely difficult. The transition on all the quarters is too quick. I don’t know, it’s cool to see new parks being put in, I just wish there was more consultation from the people who use it.

Very sad to see such a huge waste of money on concrete AGAIN from the city. Relief joints are huge, caulk lines are massive, and the finish job looks like the work of a child. I foresee more work on up keep here than that of bountiful. Which just had to re pour an entire quarter pipe because of poor craftsmanship. Taylorsville park will likely be unskateable within a year or two, with either removal or remedies leading to spending as much money as it would have cost to hire better qualified builders. Another huge waste of resources.

I’m not sure when this park was built mid 90s or so but the features and flow of this place are very unfriendly for beginner or intermediate skaters. Most of the ramps and drops are 45° angles with zero transition. I guess the park is okay for BMX riders and advanced skaters but the condition of the cement is pretty poor with lots of cracks and gaps. Would say it’s one of the least favorite skate parks we have been to in the Salt Lake City Valley.
