James City County Skate Park

This park is pretty cool, the design has an odd shape (I think the locals will understand, considering it's nickname LOL!), but it flows great!! It's a mellow park, nothing too big or off the wall, so I feel it's a good park for all ages essentially. I do wish it had a better rail set up, but other than that it's a fun park to skate. Just wish it stayed open longer during the warm season, they definitely seem consistent on closing it at sundown.

The kids that skate there are friendly and polite. My son enjoys skating there. There are more ramps than our skatepark in Gloucester.

Checked out James City Cou ty Skatepark for the first time today and found that the concrete is severely worn and very rough. Skating is almost impossible and don't think about bailing... you are gonna get some major road rash. The concrete is so rough you instantly loose speed with hard wheels. I was happy to see nice slow transitions but can't get over the worn concrete issue. This could be resolved with some thick paint. Just close the park for a day or two and coat everything with paint. I won't be visiting this park again. Heading back to Rich.ond Southside skatepark I strad.
